Appearance before renovation

Powszechny Theatre in Warsaw

The building was rebuilt after World War II from the "Popular" cinema into a theatre.
The theatre was then extended and rebuilt in the 1970s according to a concept by architect Andrzej Strachocki.
The final extension was designed by architect Jerzy Gajewski.

In 2008-2009, design and tender documentation was prepared for the project entitled: "Reconstruction and modernisation of the Zygmunt Hübner Powszechny Theatre building in Warsaw, at 20 Zamoyskiego Street".

The company "Maag" prepared the replacement documentation on behalf of the company "ARHEAD" Sp. z o.o.

The project developed by "Maag" has improved the object functionally and technically and modernized the external and internal appearance of the building.

The renovation concerned the existing administrative and technical rooms and halls, excluding the Large Stage with Auditorium (Stage "300").

The entrance complexes, the front of the Theater with the exhibition grate, were expanded. The Stage "200" was expanded and superstructured. The "100" Stage was rebuilt.
Extension and superstructure of the "200" Stage with its technological equipment, ensuring the possibility of realization of future staging visions.
